Doosan Infracore posted the best sales for March in world markets.

The company announced on April 8 that it recorded the best monthly sales in its history in terms of units in the Korean, Chinese, and North American markets for March. It showed excellent records as well in Europe and emerging markets. The demand for construction equipment has greatly increased due to economic stimulation measures to overcome COVID-19 in each country, increased mine development following the raw material price increase, and annual peak season. Moreover, the company carried out effective marketing activities centered on technology and quality.

Doosan Infracore sold a total of 650 excavators last month to record the highest monthly sales in Korea. It renewed the record in two months as the previous record was 614 units sold in January. Launching a new model played a significant role in sales increase. It introduced 13 new models for 2021 with improved safety, user-friendliness, and performance, such as the industry's first CHMSL* LED on the rear of the excavator. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that it sold 21 large excavators of 38 tons or more to record the largest monthly units sold. Customers favorably responded to the market-specific special equipment such as the 53-ton demolition machine and 38-ton telescopic dipper.

In the China market, Doosan Infracore sold a total of 4591 excavators last month to record the largest monthly sales since entering the country in 1994. The previous record was 4273 units sold in March 2010. It showed the largest sales among the foreign manufacturers (MNC) in China, overcoming the US-based Caterpillar in February and March.

It sold 177 construction machines as internal monthly record in the North American market as well. It was the largest monthly sales for Doosan Infracore North America (DINA) since it acquired the business from Bobcat in 2018. It also recorded the largest excavator sales as DINA. DINA has steadily trained dealers and developed new customers even during the COVID-19 pandemic. The US Government’s economic stimulus measures and expectation for large-scale investment in infrastructure helped expand the demand for construction equipment, leading to increased sales.

Doosan Infracore’s sales increase trend continued in Europe and emerging markets. In the European market, the company sold a total of 484 construction machines in March; this represents the second-largest sales since Doosan Infracore EU (DIEU) began its business in 2018. DIEU is reinforcing its sales force by carrying out a variety of digital marketing activities to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. It conducted an online launch event for the new wheel loader model (DL-7 series) at the end of last year. It featured a virtual showroom on its website to allow visitors to view the main features of the new model at a 360o angle from any direction in the virtual space.

Since the beginning of the year, the company has also signed large contracts to supply more than 220 construction machines in emerging markets in Asia, Middle East, and Africa. It secured major customers like large construction companies, mines, and large farms that need many construction machines, expecting further orders.

“Our efforts to introduce regionally specific products, train dealers, and secure major customers have borne fruit. We expect to have no problem in achieving the consolidated business target of 9 billion won in sales and 762.4 billion won in operating profits that we set at the beginning of this year by securing as many market opportunities as possible based on the prepared competitiveness under the governments’ economic stimulation policies worldwide,” a Doosan Infracore official said. <End>
