Speedy Expands Fleet with £3.2 Million Order for DIPP Products
2011. 11. 5

Doosan Infracore Portable Power (DIPP) has secured an order worth more than £3.2 million from Speedy, the UK’s leading provider of equipment rental and support services.

The order covers a range of equipment from Doosan, including the 7/31EG portable compressor generator, which is equipped with an integral 6.5 kVA generator that meets a specific requirement on contracts for utilities and telecommunications. The requirement is for a compressor that provides both electrical power for lights, tools and fusion welding, and compressed air for powering breakers and other pneumatic equipment.

A versatile, rugged and reliable machine, ideal for all air tool and utility applications, the 7/31EG portable compressor supplies 3.0 m3/min (105 cfm) of compressed air at 7 bar (100 psig). Power is provided by the Yanmar 3IRH8N 3-cylinder water-cooled engine running at 2800 rpm and rated at 26.0 kW(34.8 HP).

Andy Connor, Supply Chain Director at Speedy, said, “Exemplary efficiency is one of the key characteristics our customers require, and by allowing electrical tools to be run in conjunction with air tools, the Doosan 7/31EG deftly meets this requirement. Its dual functionality makes it
ideal for contractors working in the utilities sector, where we expect to see significant demand for this product. We also chose Doosan because of the outstanding local aftermarket support the company provides for the portable power range throughout the UK and Ireland.”

Andrew Hatton, UK General Manager Branch Operations for Doosan International UK Ltd, said, “We are delighted with this very important order from Speedy, which is a great testament to the high performance and durability that the Doosan range of portable power products offers for applications in plant and tool rental, construction and utilities. This is complemented by our customer-centric approach, offering unmatched experience and expertise to provide an added value service to the customer.”
