Doosan Infracore plans to increase its market share in the domestic mini excavator market by enhancing its product lineup with the July launch of the DX17Z-5 (left), a new 1.7-ton excavator, in addition to its existing 3.5-ton model. Customers who place advance orders for the new model will be offered special benefits including price discounts and an exclusive warranty.
Doosan Infracore is set to release a new 1.7-ton mini excavator (DX17Z-5) with far stronger excavation power and rotation speed than existing models in July. The company will also offer customers a range of pre-order promotion benefits until mid-June.
With a lineup including the new 1.5-ton mini excavator and the 3.5-ton mini excavator (DX35Z-5) launched in 2017, Doosan Infracore plans to continue expanding its presence in the country’s mini (less than 5-ton) excavator market, which is currently dominated by foreign manufacturers.
Doosan Infracore’s new model, the DX17Z-5, is comparable or superior to any foreign excavator in the same class in terms of its excavation power, rotation speed, and operating angle. The new model is just 950mm wide, making it highly maneuverable in narrow spaces, but it can be expanded to a maximum width of 1,360mm when required.
Another advantage offered by the new excavator is that it is equipped with features that facilitate its loading on to a small truck, as well as front LED lamps, a working area cylinder protection cover, a footrest customized for slope work, and a separable two-pole canopy, all of which further enhance the model’s exceptional operational convenience.
The biggest strength of Doosan Infracore’s mini excavators is the company’s customer-centric fast service. “Based on the country’s largest service network comprising thirty-eight service stations across the nation, Doosan Infracore will act as a game changer in a domestic mini excavator market currently dominated by imported products,” said an official of Doosan Infracore. “We will continue to expand our mini excavator lineup, in addition to the 1.7- and 3.5-ton models, to keep increasing our market share in the sector.
Ahead of the official launch of the DX17Z-5, Doosan Infracore will promote pre-order sales of the new model until June 15 by offering a discount of KRW 2 million as an incentive. An additional discount of KRW 1 million will be offered for joint purchases of the new model and a DX35Z-5. On top of that, a special warranty is being offered for major parts for the first three years or 6,000 hours of use.
The domestic market for mini excavators weighing less than 5 tons grew at an annual average rate of more than 15 percent between 2014 and 2018, when a total of 3,000 units were sold, accounting for 27 percent of the total number of excavators sold in Korea that year. However, more than 90 percent of the mini excavators sold in Korea in 2018 were foreign products.
With the launch of the new DX17Z-5, Doosan Infracore plans to maximize the synergistic effect of its 1.7- and 3.5-ton mini excavators, given that a number of customers have secured both models in Korea.
