Doosan Infracore is continuing to achieve success in emerging markets by winning large-scale orders in Central Asia and the Middle East.
Doosan Infracore announced on April 4 that it had signed contracts in Uzbekistan to supply forty-seven units of construction equipment including excavators and wheel loaders. Previously, Doosan Infracore signed a contract in Saudi Arabia to supply forty-six excavators and wheel loaders for use in mining operations and infrastructure and oil pipeline construction projects.
The two large Uzbek customers with whom Doosan Infracore has signed supply contracts are an equipment rental company and a conglomerate company, both of which have been purchasing and operating the company’s equipment for quite some time.
The latest success in securing contracts in Uzbekistan is attributable to the company’s focus on product quality and service capabilities. Despite its rivals’ aggressive sales promotions including price discounts, Doosan Infracore succeeded in winning the orders based on its local customers’ trust in the quality of its equipment and the friendly relationships it has built up with its local customers over many years. As demand for railway construction equipment is expected to increase in the Uzbek market, additional orders for the company’s construction equipment are anticipated.
In Saudi Arabia, the company succeeded in winning the order by pre-emptively preparing for demand in the local market for high-end products that deliver performance and quality while remaining cost-competitive. Recently, demand for construction machinery in Saudi Arabia has been increasing steadily following the Saudi government’s announcement of plans to expand its investment in infrastructure construction and increase fiscal spending.
An official of Doosan Infracore said, “Even amid concerns about the global economic slowdown and exchange rate fluctuations, we will make every effort to continue growing in emerging markets in 2019 by enhancing our channel competitiveness and expanding sales of our large-size models.”
